This week’s learning

The children found the book of the week ‘Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell‘ very funny as Norman uses a doughnut as a shell. On the craft table, they had great fun making their own shells using paint and glitter. On the playdough table, they enjoyed shaping the dough into ladybirds and ‘Sweetie Land’! They learnt about different bugs and even looked carefully at a real snail. They described what they could see for example, number of legs, how many antennae or did it have wings. To end the week, they solved mathematical problems for example, if one slug lays 3 eggs and another lays 2 eggs, how many eggs altogether? In our key groups, the children have been learning about people who help us: vets, firefighters and police officers. This week the children thought about what they would like to be when they are older and drew pictures.
