Hi June Bugs,

I hope that you are all still enjoying the home learning. It’s hard to believe that we only have one week left in Reception! Just like in the ‘Goodbye Friend, Hello Friend’ story, we will be saying goodbye to Reception soon and hello to Year 1. What is really exciting is that I will be moving up to Year 1 too and I will be your Year Group Leader. You will still get to see me every day 🙂

Did you all find out who your new teacher will be? Remember that you can see your new teacher’s video recorded for you on the blog.

I would just like to say thank you to you all for the lovely card and gift. It’s very kind of you and I’m so proud of each and every one of you! You have been an amazing class and I am so pleased that I will be moving to Year 1 with you after summer.

Perhaps next week, you could write a letter telling me who your new teacher is and what you are excited about in Year 1? You can then email a picture of your letter to Mrs Farrant.

Here are some of my favourite photos from our year in Reception…

Have a great week ahead!

Love from,

Miss Taylor xx

Hello Spiders,

How has your week been? Have you done something super amazing? Our time together in Reception is nearly over! Have you enjoyed all of the activities we have planned to get you ready for Year 1? This week you found out who your new teacher is which is very exciting. I wonder if you can draw a picture of your new class bug? This week I went to visit my new school and I met some of the children in my new class over zoom. I have also been with the Incy Wincy Spider bubble doing lots of activities for Year 1 just like you. We have talked about their new teachers and they have written a wish for Year 1. Some children wished to get better at spelling or maths and some children wished to make new friends.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and a wonderful week and I can’t wait to see those of you who come to say goodbye to me on Tuesday.

Hello Centipedes,

I hope you have had a good week and enjoyed your home learning that you have been doing.

I hear that you are all really excited about your move to Year One.  That is great news and shows me how grown up and sensible you all are.  Well done!

This week, in the June Bug Bubble, we have been working hard on our writing and spelling of words that contain adjacent consonants.  We have also had lots of fun on the bikes, playing with the small world farm and making 2D shapes.

What have you been doing this week?

Have a good weekend.

Bye for now,

Mrs Dray

Dear Rainbow Bug Class,

We have almost come to the end of the school year! Thank you for being such a lovely class. I will definitely see some of you next year as I will be moving to Year 1! You can always come and say hello!

This week the Rainbow Bug Bubble enjoyed looking at the artist Andy Goldsworthy. We decided to create our own art inspired by his use of natural materials.

What have you enjoyed doing this week?

Have a lovely week and remember to share what you have been doing on Tapestry. Take care and stay safe!

Personal Belongings

Dear parents/carers,

When the school was closed, the children left some of their belongings behind e.g. PE kits, pencil cases, water bottles. For health and safety reasons, we have put any belongings in storage but we will be sorting them out over the summer and they will be returned to your child in September.

Thank you for your understanding.

Enrichment Activities Week 6

There are 5 enrichment activities to be completed over the next week.

The enrichment activities develop skills, independence and encourage children to learn by doing.

Please ensure that you are adhering to the government guidelines. Stay safe and healthy. Please practice hand-washing and social distancing.
